PADUCAH, Ky. -- Carrie Jean Mackins, 74, of Paducah died Sunday, Dec. 24, 1995, at the Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
She was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Newport, Ark., daughter of the late Fred and Alvira Clay. She married Cecil Mackins on May 25, 1949, in Mound City, Ill. He preceded her in death Sept. 2, 1985.
She moved from Pulaski, Ill., to Loda, Ill. in 1973 and retired from Loda Poultry in 1985. She moved to Joliet, Ill. in 1993 and to Paducah in 1995.
Survivors include three daughters: Emma Tucker of Lockport, Ill., and Florence Roddy and Geraldine Mackins, both of Paducah; six sons: Wiley Mackins of East St. Louis, Ill., Ulysses Miller and Herbert Mackins, both of Rantoul, Ill., Robert Mackins and Terry Mackins, both of Loda, and Cecil Mackins of Joliet; two sisters: Gussie Henderson of Chicago and Freddie Mae Brown of Joliet; 44 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at New Ebenezer Baptist Church in Paducah, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. The Rev. William Ford will officiate, and burial will Saturday in the Pine Ridge Cemetery at Loda.
A special visitation also will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Friendship Baptist Church in Loda. Algee Memorial Chapel of Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
