CORINTH, Miss. -- Sammie Carolyn Russell, 73, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at Dogwood Plantation in Corinth. She was born Aug. 26, 1944, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late Richard and Hallie Hendrix. She retired as customer service director for Healthcare Supply Chain Association after 25 years. She was a beautician and owned a garden center and floral shop. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family...

CORINTH, Miss. -- Sammie Carolyn Russell, 73, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at Dogwood Plantation in Corinth.

She was born Aug. 26, 1944, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late Richard and Hallie Hendrix.

She retired as customer service director for Healthcare Supply Chain Association after 25 years. She was a beautician and owned a garden center and floral shop. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, George Russell; her children, Leah Callis, William Russell Stovall, Diane (Kevin) Turner, Sheila (Jerry) Smith and Jennifer (Jake) Jefcoat; brothers, David (Pat) Hendrix and Salvator "Sammy" (Cynthia) Anzuini; aunt, Polly Vinson; grandchildren, Sean Bailey, Kyle Turner, Madeline Smith, Rendan Russell, William Russell Stovall Jr., Katie Turner, Rachel Smith, Mason Smith, Hanna Joy Jefcoat and Jude Jefcoat; and seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life memorial service for Sammie Carolyn Russell was held Monday at Memorial Funeral Home in Corinth, with the Rev. Dennis Smith and Jennifer Jefcoat officiating.

Jennifer will be running the St. Jude Memphis Marathon, in memory of her mom. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. c/o Jennifer Jefcoat Team Corinth.
