Mrs. Carolyn O. Kirby, 93, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born July 17, 1916, in Oklahoma, fifth child of the Rev. John Albert and Maude Richards Dale. She was married to Clifford Kirby in January 1933 in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Nov. 20, 1993.
Mrs. Kirby worked at Schultz School 15 years and was a volunteer at Southeast Missouri Hospital 13 years. She was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Wanda Gaulding of Jackson, Jeane Smith of Patton, Mo., Debby Seifert of Cape Girardeau, Pam Bain of Scott City; a sister, Bessie Crawford of Cape Girardeau; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, five brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tommy Weems officiating. Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
