MALDEN, Mo. -- Dorothy Carolyn Davison, 85, of Malden died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, in Malden. She was born June 18, 1925, in Lynchburg, Ohio, daughter of Archibald and Pearl Hart. She and Richard Parks Davison were married June 24, 1948, at Fairview Church of Christ in Hillsboro, Ohio. He preceded her in death July 11, 2006. This union brought forth four children...

MALDEN, Mo. -- Dorothy Carolyn Davison, 85, of Malden died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, in Malden.

She was born June 18, 1925, in Lynchburg, Ohio, daughter of Archibald and Pearl Hart. She and Richard Parks Davison were married June 24, 1948, at Fairview Church of Christ in Hillsboro, Ohio. He preceded her in death July 11, 2006. This union brought forth four children.

Carolyn graduated from Lynchburg High School in 1943 and attended business school in Hillsboro.

As a bookkeeper and cost accountant, she was later employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

Carolyn served the Lord full time more than 58 years in her capacity as a minister's wife and mother, serving various churches in many states. Among those states were South Dakota, Ohio, Nebraska, Illinois, Missouri and Mississippi. She later attended Stokelan Drive Christian Church in Malden.

Survivors include a son, Richard Lee Davison of San Diego; three daughters, Jennifer Parks of Peyton, Colo., Alice Miller and husband Sid of Risco, Mo., Candi Maddox of Malden; a sister, Joye Newkirk of Wilmington, Ohio; six grandchildren, Alexas Marbury, Kristi Westergard and husband Jeff, Ryan Thompson, Lindsay Moore and husband Zachary, Lacey Winchester and husband Tommy, and Cassidy Maddox. She was blessed with several great-grandchildren. Among those are Brandon, Brianna and Kenzie Westergard, Mackenzie Moore, Cymber Arnold, Camille, Bree and Isaac Winchester.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archibald Hart and Pearl Hart Pulse; stepfather, Herbert Pulse; five sisters, Nina Lovarco, Faye Doty, Elizabeth Ellison, Lillian Stacey; three brothers, James, Lowell and Harold Hart; a stepbrother, John Pulse; and a son-in-law, John Maddox.

The funeral was Friday at Landess Funeral Home in Malden, with James Powell officiating. Interment was in Elder Cemetery at Campbell, Mo.
