Carolyn Sue Campbell, 84, of Cape Girardeau, passed away on Sept. 9, 2024. A dedicated employee at Hutson's Furniture for 38 years and an avid Cardinals fan, Carolyn leaves behind a loving family and cherished memories.

Carolyn Sue Campbell, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Oct. 19, 1939, in Anna, Illinois, to Lowell Herbert and Carrie Marie Crider Brown. She and Jerry Wayne Campbell were married Jan. 7, 1961. He passed away Feb. 20, 2022.

Carolyn was a 1957 graduate of Carbondale Community High School in Carbondale, Illinois.

She worked at Hutson’s Furniture in Cape Girardeau for 38 years.

Carolyn loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She was an avid bowler and president of the Sunday night mixed bowling league.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a son, Kevin Wayne (Marianne) Campbell of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Sunni Michelle (Dylan) Stephens of Sikeston and Kevin Ryan Campbell of Springfield, Illinois; great-grandchild, Cohen Stephens of Sikeston; and kitty, Carly Rose.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will follow at noon Friday, Sept. 13, at the church, with the Rev. Douglas Briete officiating. Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
