CHARLESTON -- Carol Sue Mays, 46, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
Born Jan. 12, 1954, in Cape Girardeau, she was the daughter of Gloria Jenkins, who died Jan. 27, 2000.
A 1972 graduate of Cape Central High School, she was employed by Southeast Missouri Hospital for 22 years and by the Lutheran Home for several years as well.
She was a member of St. James American Methodist Church where she served as a steward and was a member of the choir and usher board.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Mays, of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Karenya Jenkins Stitt and Kashawn L. Mays of Cape Girardeau; maternal grandmother, Annie L. Jenkins of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Patricia Jones of Cape Girardeau and Tina M. Jenkins of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Tim, David and Greg Jenkins of Cape Girardeau.
Friends may from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. James AME Church.
Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. David Allen Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the New Lorimer Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
