Carol J. Lamb, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born March 25, 1943, in Cape Girardeau County to Wilson and Edna Ford. Carol graduated from Jackson High School. She and Bob Lamb were married in Cape Girardeau. Carol worked in real estate, banking and retired from Metro Title.
It's impossible to describe everything Mom was. So here's the short version. She loved her family and friends. When Mom talked about her childhood, there were stories about the farm, playing in the creek all day with her brothers and sisters, calves and horses. It was amazing to find out she knew how to judge cattle. She talked about how they "moved in town" when she was in high school. She continued her love of cattle every year as an adult when she would attend the SEMO District Fair for a hamburger and to see the cattle.
She loved being outdoors in her garden, would feed the squirrels in the winter and watch the birds from her kitchen table. Sitting at her kitchen table, having coffee with family and friends was a long family tradition.
Mom was smart, funny, brave, cared about people, animals, worked hard and was well-versed in her political conversations.
We are thankful we got to spend time with her and will miss her greatly.
Mom was close to Jesus her entire life. She prayed for world peace in one of her prayers at the hospital during the last weeks of her life. Her light will always shine in the beautiful outdoors, birds, good humor and passionate conversation.
Survivors include her daughter, Robin Boyer of Cape Girardeau; son, Michael Lamb of Cape Girardeau; six sisters; one brother; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, her parents and husband, Bob Lamb.
