Carol Fay Cronkrite, 75, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at her home, with her husband at her side.
She was born Dec. 25, 1935, in West Union, Iowa, daughter of Harlow Fay and Irma Johns Jacobs. She and Dale H. Cronkrite were married Aug. 15, 1970, in Rockford, Ill.
Survivors include her husband; a stepson, Steven (Alisen) Cronkrite of York, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Jill Wilcox of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; paternal grandparents, Fay C. Jacobs and Mabel Ryan Jacobs, who adopted her after the death of her parents; and her maternal grandparents.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Marion, Ill., where she made many shawls for the Shawl Ministry she began in 2006.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with the Rev. E.D. Francis officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. May 25 at Arbor Crest Memorial Park in Effingham, Ill., with the Rev. Drew Holloway officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to VNA Hospice, 100 Harrison, Kennett, MO 63857.
