PATTON, Mo. -- Carmel N. Kirkpatrick, 80, of Patton passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson. She was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Patton, to Orville and Letta Pulliam Kirkpatrick. Carmel had been a resident of Jackson Manor 19 years. She enjoyed participating in the various activities there and always looked forward to visits from family and friends...

PATTON, Mo. -- Carmel N. Kirkpatrick, 80, of Patton passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.

She was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Patton, to Orville and Letta Pulliam Kirkpatrick.

Carmel had been a resident of Jackson Manor 19 years. She enjoyed participating in the various activities there and always looked forward to visits from family and friends.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Debbie (James) Hillis of Jackson; two stepgrandchildren, David Hillis of Clarkton, Mo., Jeannie Hillis of Dexter, Mo., and her son, Anthony Rankin of Clarkton; two sisters, Shirley Jones of Patton, Geralee (Jewel) Fulton of Marble Hill, Mo.; a sister-in-law, JoAnn (the late Pete) Kirkpatrick of Marble Hill; numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and the extended family at Jackson Manor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Norma Gilbert and Roselee Mitchell; and a brother, Pete Kirkpatrick.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to time of service Friday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roy Michael officiating. Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

In Carmel's memory, the family suggests contributions to Jackson Manor Nursing Home for enhancement of their activities program.
