Carma N. Heuring, 96, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at the Lutheran Home.
Carma was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Fornfelt (now Scott City) to Lester H. and Ollie M. Pinkston Wills. She was affectionately known by her family and friends as "Tee."
Carma grew up in Fornfelt and graduated from Fornfelt High School.
On June 27, 1942, she married the love of her life, Albert L. Heuring. They had 76 amazing years together. They were avid square dancers all their lives.
Carma previously worked for Eli-Walker, Southwestern Bell and Scott City Bank. After their retirement, they moved to Sebring, Florida, where Carma started teaching round dance classes.
After several years, the snowbirds from North Carolina lured her to Pineola, North Carolina, to teach round dancing for their club. In the wintertime, they would go to Mesa, Arizona, and dance out there. They eventually moved to Mesa and lived there until September 2015, when they moved back to Missouri. They also traveled extensively in their motor home during their retirement, including Alaska, Canada and Nova Scotia.
Carma was a very loving, caring and patient person who enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing and reading.
She is survived by her husband of 76 years, Albert Heuring; sons, Gene (Judy) Heuring of Cape Girardeau, Dean (Ruth) Heuring of Pomona, Missouri, and Rick (Jan) Heuring of Jackson; and daughters, Sharon Poole of Farmington, Missouri, and Monica (Ivan) Stein of Mesa.
