Carlton Hodges

ORAN, Mo. -- Carlton "Omer" Hodges, 90, of Oran died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, at Life Care Center in Sullivan, Missouri.

He was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Benton, Missouri, to Carlton Guy and Hattie Maude Miller Hodges. He married Christine Ruth Painton on Nov. 30, 1949, in Oran.

He was a trainman for Burlington Northern Railroad and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Oran.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Hodges of Oran; daughters, Dorothy Weston of Farmington, Missouri, and Pamela Adkins of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri; brothers, Jack Hodges of Magnolia, Texas, Clinton Hodges of Benton and Roy Hodges of Paducah, Kentucky; sisters, Ella Louise Hanley of Moberly, Missouri, and Hattie Bonifield of Oran; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Marcus Carlton Hodges.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Tammy Hargis as officiant. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Morley, Missouri.
