PUXICO, Mo. -- Carlos Powell, 71, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Three Rivers Healthcare Center South. Born July 24, 1930, in Puxico, he was a son of the John F. and Pearl E. Kimes Powell. Powell was a retired safety superintendent with Greyhound Bus Lines and had lived in California for 35 years before moving to Poplar Bluff in 1987. PUXICO, Mo. -- Carlos Powell, 71, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Three Rivers Healthcare Center South.

Born July 24, 1930, in Puxico, he was a son of the John F. and Pearl E. Kimes Powell.

Powell was a retired safety superintendent with Greyhound Bus Lines and had lived in California for 35 years before moving to Poplar Bluff in 1987. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

On Nov. 11, 1967, he married Joanne Lundmark in Minneapolis, Minn. She survives.

He is also survived by a son, Dean Powell of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Amy Powell of Jonesboro, Ark., and Karla Bunker of Mountain View, Ark.; a brother, John Franklin Powell of Puxico; and two granddaughters.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral chapel with Terry Stockman of Sikeston, Mo., officiating.

Burial will be in Puxico Cemetery.
