SIKESTON, Mo. -- Carletta J. Boardman, 78, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born Nov. 10, 1925, at Matthews, Mo., daughter of Harry G. and Clara A. Edmondson Jones. She and Thomas Harold Boardman were married Dec. 24, 1942. He died Feb. 12, 2004...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Carletta J. Boardman, 78, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 10, 1925, at Matthews, Mo., daughter of Harry G. and Clara A. Edmondson Jones. She and Thomas Harold Boardman were married Dec. 24, 1942. He died Feb. 12, 2004.

Boardman was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Marc and Kevin Boardman of Sikeston; a daughter, Brenda Winters of Sikeston; two sisters, Mary Van Gilder of Louisville, Ky., Clara Parker of Lexington, Ky.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and five brothers.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Geers officiating. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
