Carl Reddick, of Scott City died Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at the age of 76 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 26, 1934 at Cantwell, Mo., son of Orel and Grace Hawthorne Reddick. He married Carole Ramsey June 26, 1956, in Cantwell, Mo.

Carl retired from Wetterau Foods Inc., where he was employed for 32 years. He was a Korean conflict veteran, serving in the Army. He attended River City Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed hunting, fishing and pitching horseshoes. He was a member of the SEMO Horseshoe Association and the Horseshoe Hall of Fame. Carl coached Little League and Babe Ruth teams in Scott City.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Reddick of Scott City; two daughters, Janice (Zane) Gray of Patterson, Mo., Donna (Steve) Essner of Scott City; a son, Rob (Deb) Reddick of Scott City; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Craig) Smith, Angela (Michael) Morris, Dana (Philip) Spinks, Jared Essner, Corey Gray, Denae and Mallory Reddick. six great-grandchildren, Caleb and Carson Smith, Evan and Aubrey Spinks, Alaina and Shane Morris; two brothers, Jesse (Pat) of Jackson, Roy (Karen) of Columbia; two sisters, Bernice (Steve) Zobrisky of Columbia and Grace (Dallam) Pettus of Bonne Terre; and a sisters-in-law, Delores Reddick of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and Ralph Reddick; and a sister, Ethel Reddick.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with Rev. Michael Morris officiating.

Burial will follow in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Scott City Youth League.
