CHAFFEE -- Carl E. James, 82, of Chaffee died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 15, 1915, in Bollinger County, son of Lorance and Elizabeth Eaker James. He and Elsie C. Moore were married July 1, 1939.

James was a retired sole finisher at Florsheim Shoe Co. in Chaffee, and was a retired farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church, served as a deacon, and was a member of the Men's Brotherhood.

Survivors include his wife; and a sister, Audrey Pulley of McClure, Ill.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 10 a.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Revs. Watis Harrell and Glen Golden officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park at Marble Hill.
