Carl Ray Farless, 71, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of California, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at his home, following a long-term illness. He was surrounded by his family.
Carl had a deep love of his faith and loved to be around friends and family.
He was born March 25, 1937, in Mojave, Calif., son of Jesse and Alice Farless.
Carl had a very interesting job history. He worked for Playboy Limousine Enterprises and for Lockheed Aircraft. He had also owned and operated an auto body shop in Palmdale, Calif., until retiring. During his retirement he became restless and went to work as a bus driver with Cape Girardeau School District. He loved to work with the children and enjoyed his job. His hobbies were classic cars and R.C. airplanes.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Terresa; four children, Carl Farless Jr. of Chatsworth, Calif., Richard Farless of Sacramento, Calif., Tracy Arlene Baker of North Hollywood, Calif., Layne Frank Farless of the home; and two grandchildren, Jesse Ray and Marti Jean.
Service will be private.
The Neptune Society in St. Louis is in charge of arrangements.
