MOUNDS, Ill. -- Funeral service for Carl E. Sheible, Mounds Route 1, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Barkett Funeral Chapel here. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery.

Sheible, 59, died Friday, April 30, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He was born April 1, 1934, at Cairo, son of Woodrow and Cora Sheible.

Sheible was a riverboat captain with Mays Towing Co., and member of Faith Christian Fellowship Church at Bertrand, Mo.

Survivors include his wife, Connie; a daughter, Carol Stolze of Edwardsville; three sons, David Sheible of Cairo, Daniel Sheible of Atlanta, Ga., Paul Sheible of Mounds; his mother, Cora Coleman of Percy; four sisters, Phylis Hargis of Paducah, Ky., Frances Taylor and Sue Jarrett of Percy, Elaine Condon of Sparta; three brothers, Charles Sheible of Anchorage, Alaska, Ronnie Sheible of Colorado, James Sheible of Mounds, and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son.
