Carl W. "Doc" Dockins, 81, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, at the Jackson Manor in Jackson.
He was born Aug. 28, 1939, in Scopus, Missouri, to Ira and Alma "Jane" Hanners Dockins. Five children were born to their union.
He and Delba "Faye" Mayfield were married June 25, 1960, at Mayfield, Missouri. They had been married 48 years, when Faye passed away Oct. 29, 2008.
Carl was a 1958 graduate of Jackson High School. He worked 40 years at Atlas/Spartech Plastic in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 2000.
He enjoyed dancing, but above all loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Carla (Darrell) Stadt; two grandchildren, Lacey (Robert) Pulley and Lance (Lydia) Stadt, all of Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Madey and Everleigh Pulley; and two siblings, Jerry (Carolyn) Dockins and Mary Lou Switzer of Jackson.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife and two siblings, Almeta Long and Donald Dockins.
A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson with the Rev. Elijah Allen officiating.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
