EAST PRAIRIE -- Carl Stanley Britt, 90, of Victorville, Calif., died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at Desert Valley Medical Hospital in Victorville.
He was born Feb. 25, 1908, in Columbus, Ky., son of G.L. and Maggie Hayes Britt. He married Willie Forrester, who died Nov. 9, 1985.
Britt moved to Long Beach, Calif., in 1943 from East Prairie. He lived in Lucerne Valley 15 years before moving to Victorville six months ago.
He retired as a pipefitter with O'Mear and Rogers Co. in Long Beach. He was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge in Long Beach.
Survivors include three sons, Sherman Britt of Lebanon, Mo., Orville Britt of Victorville, Winston Britt of Dunnellon, Fla.; a daughter, Imogene Fuqua of Victorville; a brother, Wayne Britt of Pahrump, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers, and four sisters.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at IOOF Cemetery, with the Rev. Burl Britt officiating.
