Cara J. Schneier, 56, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Chester, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 2, 1950, in Murphysboro, Ill., daughter of Elmer and Alberta Huskey Vieregge.
Cara was of the Lutheran belief and a member of the Red Hat Society in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include four children, Laura (the Rev. Andrew) Mifflin of Gorham, Ill., Charles (Leslie) Korando of Carbondale, Ill., Jodie (Gary) Siever of Aruba, Mo., Nathan (Elise) Zipprich of Durham, N.C.; her father, Elmer Vieregge of Chester; seven grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alberta; a daughter, Velicia Rose Korando; and a sister, Gertrude Nell Vieregge.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Andrew Mifflin officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Chester.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
