C. WALTER CASPER

COBDEN, Ill. -- C. Walter Casper, 88, of Cobden died Friday, May 2, 1997, at Jonesboro Health Center.

He was born May 7, 1908, in Cobden, son of Walter and Minnie Humphrey Casper. He married Gladys Bennett on Oct. 29, 1932, in Jackson County, Ill., and she survives him.

He is also survived by a daughter, Luella Watkins, of Anna, Ill.; four sons, Kenneth Casper of Peoria, Ill, H. Wallace Casper of St. Louis, Ronald Casper of Cobden and Charles Casper of Manito, Ill.; a sister, Mae Burgus of Peoria; a brother, H.E. "Gene" Casper of Cobden; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, and after 8 a.m. Monday, at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor, the Rev. Wallace Casper and the Rev. Darren Casper officiating. Burial will be in the Cobden Cemetery.
