C. Trevor Jeffries, 86, of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 3, 1906, at Kell, Ill., the son of Ray and Mae Kell Jeffries. In 1927, he married Mable Gage at Texico, Ill. She survives of the home.

He was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School in Mt. Vernon, Ill. and formerly worked in Carbondale, Ill. as an agrichemical salesman for Liggett-Myers Tobacco Co. before his retirement in 1971. He also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Simon of Champaign, Ill. and Martha Esposito of Lafayette, La.; a sister, Kathryn Newell of Scheller, Ill.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Charles Grant will officiate, and burial will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park Cemetery in Murphysboro, Ill.
