PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Byron Burdell Todd, 72, of Perryville died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Perry County Nursing Center.

He was born Sept. 5, 1930, at Gibson, Mo., son of Chester and Mamie Stearns Todd. He and Wilma Willard were married Aug. 19, 1982, in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.

Todd owned and operated Downtown Sinclair in Cape Girardeau five years, was a salesman and delivery driver 15 years with D&B Drug Co. in St. Louis and was a guard 20 years at Menard State Prison in Chester, Ill.

He was a private first class in the U.S. Army from Nov. 4, 1950, to April 5, 1951.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Theresa Severs and Jessica Buatte of Chester, Pamela McLaughlin of Webster Groves, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Tracy Baker of St. Peters, Mo.; three brothers, Frank Todd of Swartz Creek, Mich., Bill Todd of Cape Girardeau, James Todd of Ludington, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau, with full military rites by Missouri Honor Guard.
