Buss Paar, 81, of Gilbertsville, Ky., formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at his daughter's home in Nashville, Tenn. Buss Paar, 81, of Gilbertsville, Ky., formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at his daughter's home in Nashville, Tenn.

He was born June 29, 1929, in Jackson, to Frederich F. and Florence Browning Paar. He and Dorothy Seabaugh were married Oct. 5, 1957, in Jackson. She preceded him in death earlier this year.

Buss received an undergraduate degree from Southeast Missouri State University and a master's degree from Washington University.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Calvert City Presbyterian Church, and a SEMO Booster. He was owner of Electric Supply Co. Inc.

Survivors include two sons, Steve (Karen) Paar of Festus, Mo., Jon (Kathy) Paar of St. Peters, Mo.; a daughter, Lynn Dee (Todd) Thomas of Nashville; seven grandchildren, Kara and Erika Paar of St. Peters, Frankie and Josey Paar of Festus, Anne Dee, Nathan and Abby Thomas of Nashville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. John Farone officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be given to Calvert City Presbyterian Church, 618 Evergreen St., Calvert City, KY 42029.
