Burwell C. Fox, 75, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 1994, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.
He was born Dec. 28, 1918, in Cape Girardeau, son of Burwell and Helen Coerver Fox. He married Geneva Hug, who preceded him in death.
Fox received a degree in business from Southeast Missouri State University, and was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
For 25 years he owned a small island named Little Thatch near St. John's in the Virgin Islands, and operated a resort there. After retiring he moved to Aiken, S.C., and then to Cape Girardeau in 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathleen Ness of Castro Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Fox of Cape Girardeau, Helen Glazer of Bethesda, Md., and two grandchildren.
There is no visitation.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
