Burnett O. "Bunny" Plumb, 65, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born June 27, 1937, at Allenville, Mo., the son of Burnett O. and Alpha "Pete" Surlet Plumb. He married Dorothy "Dottie" Schwartz on Nov. 19, 1960, at Benton, Mo.

He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1111, Thomas A. Langen Assembly 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion Post 63.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1959.

"Bunny" attended Cape public schools. He retired as plant supervisor at Atlas Plastics in 1987. After retiring he worked at Blair Industries and M&W Manufacturing and part-time at Wal-Mart, Heartland Rehab and the Lutheran Home.

He is survived by his wife of Cape Girardeau; his stepfather, Raymond Hutson of Cape Girardeau; his mother, Alpha "Pete" Plumb Hutson of Cape Girardeau; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Howard Glosson of Nashville, Tenn., and Laura and Robert Walz of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren, Gina Glosson, Eva Glosson and Casey Glosson, all of Nashville, and Jace Walz of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be said at 7 p.m. today with a Knights of Columbus rosary to be recited immediately following parish prayers.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Cathedral with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating.

Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with military graveside rites.

Memorials may be made to the Gibson Recovery Center or St. Mary Cathedral.
