SIKESTON, Mo. -- Buddy Hardin Dock, 73, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at his home near Sikeston.
He was born May 7, 1939, at Malden, Mo., son of the late William A. and Audrey E. Hardin Dock.
Buddy was a resident of the area most of his life and worked as a bricklayer; a route salesman for Swift Premium, Sealtest and Hart's Bakery; a truck driver for Reliable Freight; and most recently as a driver for Scott County Transit. He was a member and deacon at North Acres General Baptist Church and a member of Sikeston Masonic Lodge 310 AF&AM and Order of Eastern Star 137; and he was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Scottish Rite and Shrine Lodge in St. Louis.
He and Margaret Cannon were married July 4, 1958.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Carri Dock of New Hamburg, Mo.; two daughters and son-in-law, Laura and Barry Brown of Delta and Tina Dock and Kevin DeWitt of Sikeston; a brother, Fred Dock of Sikeston; 10 grandchildren, Jessica Dock of Nashville, Tenn., Danielle Dock and Alexis Dock of New Hamburg, Audriana Glover, Addison Glover and Avery Glover of Sikeston and Ashlyn Brown, Abbi Brown, Andrew Brown and Alec Brown of Delta; and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Jerry Dock and Sonny Dock, and a sister, Patsy VonBehren, preceded him in death.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Lester Clayton of Dexter, Mo., officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Yant, David Harper, Phillip Cook, Denny Miller, Michael VonBehren and Jeffrey VonBehren. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Cook, Warren Harber, George St. Onge and Floyd Crowley.
