WAPPAPELLO -- Buddy R. Alsup, 66, of Wappapello died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998, at Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Aug. 18, 1932, at Sikeston, son of Rufus R. and Nona Mae King Alsup. He first married Ruth Ann Cox March 4, 1947. She died March 2, 1964. He and Gail Tuley were married March 25, 1965, in New Madrid.
Alsup had owned and operated Buddy's One Stop Bait Shop at Wappapello. He previously owned and operated Spillway Bait Shop and Restaurant at Wappapello Lake. He also had worked at Tetra-Pac in Sikeston.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ernest Alsup of Bloomfield, Buddy Alsup of St. Louis, Todd Alsup of Poplar Bluff; four daughters, Lorraine Archer of Woodland, Calif., Vicky Webster of Broseley, Tina Ash of Wappapello, and Leslie Cashion of Jackson.
Other survivors include his father of Amory, Miss.; a brother, Robert Alsup of Aberdeen, Miss.; a sister, Joyce Kelso of Olive Branch, Miss.; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Garden of Memories Cemetery. The Rev. T.R. Meadows will officiate.
