Alvin Joseph "Uncle Bud" Kimmich, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born May 13, 1910, in Cape Girardeau, son of Samuel and Daisy Taylor Kimmich. He and Delia Loos were married Nov. 22, 1931, at Jackson. She died July 13, 1991.
Kimmich was a lifelong resident of Cape Girardeau, and a graduate of Central High School. He was in the car business many years with his brother-in-law, Jack Doty. He retired in 1975 after 12 years with the postal service.
He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, VFW, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans. He was a corporal in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include six nieces, Vicki McMullen, Mark Springer, Susan and Savanna Ayers, all of Cape Girardeau, Kathy Floyd of Venice, Fla., Virginia Careaga of Phoenix, Ariz.; six nephews, Sam Stausing of Union, Dax Stausing of St. Louis, Dane Stausing of Cape Girardeau, Lee, Trevor and Travis Floyd, all of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Ruth McMullen of Cape Girardeau; and a brother-in-law, Paul Loos of Notre Dame, Ind.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Revs. Frank Crowley and Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park, with VFW graveside rites.
