Gerald "Bud" Joyce Sr., 69, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, April 20, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Sept. 29, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, son of Leland and Myrtle Edmundson Joyce. He and Margie Crader were married Oct. 31, 1955, in Holly Springs, Miss.
Joyce was employed 15 years with city of Cape Girardeau Street Department. He retired from Tel-Line in 1991, where he was a foreman and machine operator.
He was a member of Red Star Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Gerald Joyce Jr. of Durant, Okla., Roy Joyce Sr., John, Jack, Don and Ron Joyce, all of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Debbie Hanks of Cape Girardeau, Vickie Paskel of St. Louis; an adopted daughter, Rhonda Watterson of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Norma Reynolds of Cape Girardeau, Doris Tripp of Oriole; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
A private funeral will be held with the Rev. Don Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
