JACKSON -- Jimmy L. "Bud" Hurt, 55, of Jackson died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at Jackson Manor.

He was born April 23, 1944, at Messler, son of James Leroy and Opal Griffith Hurt.

Hurt was a truck driver with Snappy Delivery more than 31 years. He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Eric Hurt of Imboden, Ark.; two stepsons, Travis Gibson of Cape Girardeau, Cory Fraser of Jackson; his mother, Opal London of Jackson; six brothers, Kenneth, Garry and Avery Hurt of Cape Girardeau, Frank, Don and Keith Hurt of Jackson; two sisters, Gloria Steger of Cape Girardeau, Brenda Baker of Jackson; two stepsisters, Terisa and Tina Hanebrink of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dallas Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery near Advance.
