SIKESTON -- Delorin "Bud" Beardsley, 71, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, March 9, 1993, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 29, 1921, at Canalou, son of Arthur Earl and Bertha Evans Beardsley. He and Jessie Marie Biggs were married Oct. 2, 1972, at Clayton.
Beardsley moved to Sikeston 13 years ago from St. Louis. He was a welder and ironworker, retiring in 1977 from Banner Iron Works in St. Louis.
He was a member of New Harmony General Baptist Church here, and International Association of Bridge Structural and Ornamental Ironworkers Local 518. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Earl Beardsley of Leavenworth, Kan.; a stepson, Michael Burns of St. Charles; five stepdaughters, Alice Singer and Earnestine Van Hook of Valley Park, Sharron Davis of Fenton, Imogene Wiggs of Bon Aqua, Tenn., Mary Clabo of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; three brothers, Daniel Beardsley of Redding, Pa., Kenneth Beardsley of Kansas City, Ronald Beardsley of Sikeston; four sisters, Delores Harrison of Pacific, Doris Nazar of Dalton, Pa., Betty Hahs of Valley Park, Earline Marak of Colton, Calif.; 23 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with the Revs. Larry Rouse and Buddy Hannah officiating. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lemay.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.
