SCOTT CITY -- Funeral mass for Bridget Ozell "Birdie" Hopper of Scott City will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Pat Wissman will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 2 p.m. Sunday. A prayer service will be held at 7.

Hopper, 103, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 1996, at her home.

She was born April 2, 1893, in Hamburg, Ark., daughter of Dennis and Martha Jane Carrol Dailey. She and William Benjamin Hopper were married July 18, 1909, in Hamburg. He died Sept. 3, 1944.

Hopper had worked at Ely Walker Co. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 6407.

Survivors include three sons, William Hopper of Lakeshore, Ore., Arthur Hopper of Louisville, Ky., Thomas Hopper of Scott City; four daughters, Alma Crader of Scott City, Martha Dunger of St. Louis, Willie Janesko of Waterloo, Ill., Rose Goehman of Cape Girardeau; 30 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, two brothers, six sisters and three grandchildren.
