ADVANCE, Mo. -- Brenda Kaye Pickett, 56, of Advance died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at her home.
Born March 26, 1945, in Sturdivant, Mo., she was the daughter of Paul and Mary Moore Hamlin.
On Aug. 30, 1963, in Zalma, Mo., she was married to Don Pickett. He died Sept. 30, 1980.
A registered nurse, Pickett served 14 years in the U.S. Naval Reserves. She was a 1963 graduate of Zalma High School and was a Girl Scout leader in Advance.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Pickett of Sturdivant; a daughter, Mendy Henson of Advance; six brothers, Jimmy Hamlin of Wappapello, Mo., Jerry Hamlin of Advance, Billy Hamlin of Bethalto, Ill., Mike Hamlin of St. Charles, Mo., Tom Hamlin of Fredericktown, Mo., Terry Hamlin of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Alene Fish of Alton, Ill., Pam Brenker of St. Charles; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call from 4:30-8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Tom Lych officiating. Burial will take place at Morgan Memorial Park.
