KELSO -- Funeral for Brenda Joyce Held of Kelso will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kassly Mortuary in Fairview Heights, Ill. The Rev. James Haupt will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery at Belleville, Ill.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4-8 p.m. today. Friends may also call at Kassly Mortuary Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time.

Held, 50, died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at her home.

She was born Jan. 18, 1949, in East St. Louis, Ill., daughter of Eugene O. and Mary Ann Moore Blockyou. She and J.F. "Fred" Held were married May 23, 1982, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Held was a clerk at Schnucks and attended First Assembly of God Church, both in Cape Girardeau. She moved to Kelso 15 years ago from Fairview Heights.

Survivors include her husband; a stepson, Kyle Held of Sequim, Wash.; and a sister, Pat Swift of Troy, Ill.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.
