CHAFFEE -- Funeral Mass for John "Brad" Spencer Sr. of Chaffee will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. The Rev. Allan Saunders will officiate, with burial in Union Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, and Elks service at 7:30.
Spencer, 91, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, in an automobile accident near Dutchtown.
He was born Aug. 24, 1906, at Boekerton, son of William and Stella Perkins Spencer. He and Jean Smith Enderle were married in April 1956.
Spencer had worked for Frisco Railroad Co. at Chaffee, retiring as conductor in June 1983. He was a member of St. Ambrose Church, Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810, and UTU.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John "Jack" Spencer Jr. of Chaffee; a daughter, Mayme Fetsch of Bridgeton; two stepsons, Jay Enderle of Miami, Fla., David Enderle of Freeburg, Ill.; two sisters, Billie Schultz of Springfield, Peggy Passwater of state of Ohio; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
