MOUNDS, Ill. -- Jo Yvonne "Bonnie" Jones, 84, of Mounds passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 1, 1930, in Cairo, Illinois, daughter of the late James Lloyd Diggs Sr. and Josephine Marie Shelton Diggs.

Bonnie was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church at Villa Ridge, Illinois, and a member and treasurer of its Women's Missionary Union, and the adult women's Sunday school teacher. Bonnie was a member of Caledonia Eastern Star Chapter 587 of Olive Branch, Illinois.

She was a telephone operator 40 years with the former Southwestern Bell and later with AT&T Phone Co.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce C. Jones Jr.; a brother, James Lloyd "Buddy" Diggs Jr.; and a sister, Mary Lou Moreland.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Scott Jones and wife Cindy of Phoenix; two daughters, Debbie Jones McNulty of Scott City, Joyce Jones Puckett of Paducah, Kentucky; two sisters, Pat Lambert of Tamms, Illinois, Shirley Diggs of Cairo; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a special nephew, David Moreland and wife Linda of Mounds; and other relatives.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge. Eastern Star service will be at 4:30 p.m. by members of the Caledonia Chapter.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Larry Miller officiating. Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
