JONESBORO, Ill. -- Bonnie A. Grass-Bauman, 83, of Southern Illinois, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Herrin Hospital.
She was born May 8, 1921, in Buncombe, Ill., daughter of Otis and Mary Jenkins White. She and Elmer "Red" Grass were married in 1938 in Ste. Genevieve, Mo. He died in 1980. She and George Bauman were married in 1981. He died in 1997.
Grass-Bauman retired as a nurse assistant from Kankakee State Hospital in Kankakee, Ill. She and her first husband owned and operated Anna Sheet Metal Works many years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, Ill., a volunteer for Marion Hospital Auxiliary, a member of Johnson County Home Extension, a TIP Home Health volunteer in Johnson County and a volunteer with Senior Citizens Center in Marion.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Grass of Kankakee, Norman Grass of Jonesboro; a sister, Faye Pierce of Corning, Ark.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and Monday at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve from 10 a.m. to service time.
The funeral will be at noon Monday at Basler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Daniel Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Valle Spring Cemetery
