SIKESTON, Mo. -- Bonnie Jean Happe Gereau, 75, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Farrenburg, Mo., the daughter of Jake C. and Esther Farrenburg Happe. She married Robert Iver Gereau on Dec. 13, 1957. He preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1976.
She had been a bookkeeper for Arthur Rubloff and the American Thread Company in Chicago, Ill., and for Harold Hosta in Troy, Ill., before retiring.
She is survived by two stepsons, Francis Gereau and Michael Gereau, both of Fenton, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Sharon Rupert of Waukegan, Ill., and Bobbie Gereau of Imperial, Mo.; five brothers, Melvin Happe of Phoenix, Ariz., Billy Jake Happe of Winter Haven, Fla., Fred Happe of Wappapello, Mo., Don Happe of Tulsa, Okla., and Dick Happe of Sikeston; seven sisters, Wilma Dallas of Cornville, Ariz.; Annette Rizzo of Mission Oaks, Fla., Alice Happe and Betty Kelley, both of Sikeston, Barbara Krebs of Wappapello, Joan Clark of Redding, Calif., and Judy Kay Hoffmaster of Somers, Mont.; two stepgranddaughters; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lee Fansler, pastor of the Sikeston Community Church, officiating.
Burial will be at the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery.
