MARBLE HILL, Mo. � Bonita Beatrice Kirkpatrick Huffman of Marble Hill passed away peacefully Friday, March 16, 2018. She was 82, and had suffered from lung disease in recent years.
She was born Dec. 2, 1935, in Mayfield, Missouri, daughter of Lee and Olive Douglas Kirkpatrick. On Sept. 3, 1954, Bonita was married to Pfc. Ray Huffman in Cape Girardeau.
Bonita and Ray lived and raised their family on a farm, where she worked her garden, milked cows, raised chickens, and made large dinners for her family. She also enjoyed canning and making rag rugs. Ray passed away Jan. 14, 2001.
She is survived by her son, the Rev. Nathan (Charnetta) Huffman of Marble Hill; daughters, Vonita (Rick) Bazzell and Donita Jane (Wayne) Read, both of Marble Hill; daughter-in-law, Diane (Ray Anthony) Huffman of Valmeyer, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sons, Douglas Edward and Ray Anthony; brothers, John Henry, Charley �Brov, and George Willie Kirkpatrick; and sisters, Ettie Jane Seabaugh and Dottie Lee Boothe.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nathan Huffman officiating.
