LAKE OF EGYPT, Ill. -- Bonetta Abercrombie Moss, 84, of Lake of Egypt and formerly of Alexander County died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at her home.

She was born June 3, 1915, at McClure, the daughter of John and Beulah Miller Abercrombie. She and Charles T. Moss were married in 1935. He died in 1977.

Moss was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marion. She attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and taught school near McClure before meeting her husband.

In 1945, the family moved to Southern California, where she owned a beauty shop and styled hair for 35 years. She moved back to Lake of Egypt upon retirement 22 years ago.

She is survived by a son, Richard Moss of Tamms; a daughter, Charle Sue Varble of Reno, Nev.; a sister, Mary Ann Willis of Anna; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A sister preceded her in death.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today and until the time of services Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery.
