BENTON, Mo. -- Bobby Gene Sexton, 69, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born in Portageville on Feb. 4, 1937.
He lived in Benton for 36 years and had been employed by Missouri Dry Dock until retirement seven years ago. On April 15, 1955, he married Letha Geraldine Leist, who survives after 51 wonderful years. Rose Marie Sexton first-born daughter is with God. Other survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Gene (Kathy) Sexton Jr., of Chaffee, David Ray (Angie) Sexton of Dexter, Terry Dwayne (Meg) Sexton of Troy, Mo.; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Darline (Randy) Robertson of Benton; ten grandchildren, Terry Sexton, Jr., David Sexton Jr., Christopher Sexton, Wesley Robertson, Christina Sexton, Heather Sexton, Stephen Sexton, Elizabeth Sexton, Elaine Sexton, Emma Sexton. Also surviving niece and nephew, Mike and Nancy Myer of Jackson.
Bobby loved God, his wife Letha, his children and his grandchildren with all his heart and was a member of Feed the Children.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Gospel in Sikeston Church with the Rev. Larry Davis, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Forrest Hill Memorial Gardens near Morley.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Sexton Jr., David Sexton Sr., Terry Sexton Jr., David Sexton Jr., Chris Sexton and Mike Myer.
