MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Bobby L. Robinson, 52, of Mound City died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at his home.

He was born Feb. 4, 1956, in Bragg City, Mo., son of Ernest Newton and Martha Melvina Langley Robinson. He married Altha Mae Morrison.

Robinson was a maintenance worker at Daystar Care Center in Cairo, Ill., and Smiles Senior Center in Mounds, Ill., and also farmed before retiring.

Survivors include his wife; four stepdaughters, Sharon Williams of Holcomb, Mo., Rebecca Edging and Cindy Jones of Mounds, Ill., Diane Harless of Bernie, Mo.; two stepsons, Ray Hightower of Idaho, Steve Hightower of Kennett, Mo.; four sisters, Leva Stadler of Fairdealing, Mo., Arlena Williams, Faye Parsons, and Helen Busby, all of Mound City; two brothers, Charles Robinson of Malden, Mo., Ernest Robinson of Mound City; and several stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepson, three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Masonic Cemetery in Olmsted, Ill., with the Rev. Jerry Whitaker officiating.
