Bobby J. Hite, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at Ratliff Care Center.
He was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Cairo, Ill., son of Elston and Della Brown Hite. He and Martha Harrison were married July 29, 1951. She preceded him in death Oct. 26, 1999.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and flight engineer.
Hite retired from Plaza Gifts and Office Supplies.
Survivors include a daughter, Yevone L. Menz of Jackson; three sons, Robert D. Hite of Phoenix, William J. Hite of Knoxville, Tenn., Edward G. Hite of Sturkie, Ark.; a brother, Billy Hite; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two sisters, Agatha Cady and Alma Barnes; and two brothers, Elston and Jackie Hite.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds, Ill., with the Rev. Chris Clifton officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army and will be accepted at the funeral home.
