TAMMS, Ill. -- Bobby Joe Gunning, 69, of Greenville, Ill., formerly of Tamms, died Monday, March 9, 2009, at Greenville Regional Health Care.

He was born Dec. 24, 1939, in Tamms, son of Michael Walter and Melba Sims Gunning Sr.

Survivors include two nephews, Michael Gunning of Cape Girardeau, Mark Gunning of Texas; two nieces, Joyce Monk of Newburgh, Ind., and Cheryl Gunning of New Orleans.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

Graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at McCrite Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating.
