Bobby Davis

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Bobby J. Davis, 78, of Sikeston died Friday, March 19, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born March 11, 1926, in Catron, Mo., son of Sam C. and Edna Reynolds Davis. He and Verna Cox were married Jan. 2, 1945, at Sikeston.

Davis retired as a truck driver for Malone and Hyde in 1986. He was a member of Am Vets, life member of Disabled American Veterans and VFW Post in Dexter, Mo.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Joseph Davis of Sikeston; a daughter, Mary Davis of Sikeston; a brother, Wesley Westmoreland of Moline, Ill.; a sister, Dalora Schmittzehe of Dexter; three granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a brother.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sikeston. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
