WEST PLAINS, Mo. -- Bobbie J. Mensing, 45, of West Plains, formerly of Olive Branch, Illinois, passed away at 1:12 a.m., Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Louis.

She was born Aug. 13, 1975 in Granite City, Illinois, to Bob and Loretta Shelton Burns. She married James Mensing on June 14, 2003. They have since been separated.

Bobbie enjoyed traveling, her cats, family and participating in Relay for Life, which she did for many years. She was a past member of the Horseshoe Lake Chamber of Commerce, which she served as treasurer.

She was employed at Southern Bank in Cape Girardeau before transferring to the West Plains branch. She also worked at Wal-Mart in Cape Girardeau for many years.

Bobbie is survived by her siblings, Wendy (Tommy) Vaughn of Olive Branch; James (Maggie) Burns of Columbia, Illinois; Amanda Roy of Portree, Scotland; Sheila (Roger) Terbrak of Metropolis, Illinois; Paul (Roberta) Wood of Topeka, Kansas; and Tony (Geronda) Wood of Dongola, Illinois; significant other, John Brown of West Plains; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has been accorded. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Olive Branch Cemetery in Olive Branch with the Rev. Alfred Willowhawk officiating. Inurnment will follow.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the cemetery. Envelopes will be available.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Illinois, is in charge of arrangements.
