MOUNDS, Ill. -- Bobbie M. Goins, 75, of Mounds died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 12, 1928, in Dongola, Ill., daughter of Clarence and Ina Lingle Fields. She married John H. Goins.
Goins and her husband owned Goins Star Cleaners in Mounds 46 years, and she was a former correspondent for the Cairo Citizen.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and had been a Sunday School teacher and secretary, and church secretary and treasurer. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Pulaski County Memorial VFW Post 8891.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Janet Palmer of Madison, Wis., Judith Biggerstaff of Marble Hill, Mo.; a son, Sammy Goins of Mounds; a sister, Betty Lingle of Dongola; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather and a sister.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Burial will be in Mound City National Cemetery.
