Bob R. Welker, 65, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at his home. He was born Aug. 11, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, son of Luther and Audrey Rhodes Welker. He and Judith Roe were married Oct. 26, 1968. Welker was a graduate of Central High School. He was an electronics instructor in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-58...

Bob R. Welker, 65, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at his home.

He was born Aug. 11, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, son of Luther and Audrey Rhodes Welker. He and Judith Roe were married Oct. 26, 1968.

Welker was a graduate of Central High School. He was an electronics instructor in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-58.

He had worked at Davis Electric, Cape Furniture, Griffaw Furniture, and Custom Design Furniture, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Red Star Baptist Church and Eagles Aerie 3775.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, Michael Anthony Welker of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Bonnie Hahs and Patsy Higgins of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marvin Welker.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond McAfee officiating. Burial will be in Grassy Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery at Grassy.

Pallbearers will be nephews Kevin Foster, Michael Ireland, Scott Roe, Steven Ireland, Terry Surwillo and Johnny Surwillo.
