CHARLESTON -- Robert L. "Bob" Warren, 72, Charleston Route 2, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 9, 1925, in Mammoth Springs, Ark., son of Harry Thomas and Eva Phoeba Marie Risner Warren Sr. He and Mary Maragret Crabtree were married July 21, 1945.
Warren had farmed and was also owner/operator of Home Oil Co. and Mississippi County Bowling Lanes. He had lived in Scott and Mississippi Counties most of his life.
He was a member of Unity Baptist Church near Benton, Masonic Lodge 407 AF&AM, Scottish Rite and Moolah Temple of St. Louis. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier Enterprise during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Lt. Col. John Warren of Jefferson City; a daughter, Susan Warren of Austin, Texas; a brother, Harry Warren Jr. of Charleston; two sisters, Charlene Merrick of Jefferson City, Greta Watson of Mart, Texas; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8:30 p.m. today. Masonic rites will be at 7.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dale Huff officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, with military graveside rites.
